AME HD 1080p .MOV to MPG2

Hi all,

I have a client who sent me some large (5+gb) files to burn on a DVD. No authoring or menus just a insert DVD and play. So the format they gave me was a 720p 29.976 FPS H.264. ACC and gave 6 files (various lengths but the the total was the 5+gb's).

So when I went into media encoder I selected DVD, MPG2, 480 NTSC DV @ 29.976; the Source file was 1.09GB's and the encoded files was well over 2.6GB's even though it was down-res'ed from 1280x720 to 480 SD. What am I doing wrong?
