Using Premier Elements to publish Lightroom 5 slideshow to dvd, the slideshow doesn't play correctly once imported into Premier

I understand that I have to use Premier to publish Lightroom slideshows to play on a dvd.   But once I export from Lightroom, and import to Premier, the music plays broken up, and the slides have jerky transitions.   Any ideas?
