Proper workflow for syncing audio and video and creating subclips afterwards of synced composition?

I've got 10 minute long interview.

I've got the video file and the off-camera audio file.

1. I import both files into Premiere CC.

2. I create a new composition (Adam Smith's Interview)

3. I drag the video and audio files into the composition.

4. I sync the audio to the video.

5. I then lock the audio to the video.

From here I'm not sure where to go.

The interview is 10 minutes long but I want to create lots of little subclips of the good parts of the interview now that the audio has been synced to the video. And then drag those subclips into the master composition.

But as far as I know you can't mark Ins and Outs of a sequence... I would have to export the sequence as a separate file and then re-import and then do the marking and sub-clipping.

There has got to be a better way. What step am I missing in this workflow?
