I do not understand that statement. You have a 1000 picture so there are 1000 backgrounds. Yet you write as thought there is a single background. That would only be the case if all images were identical Same exposure same light same focus no movement in the foreground or background. 1000 identical images the timelapse would be a still image.
Yes the pictures are made in a controlled environment, exposure, light is all the same. The object only changes in the middle. You can think of it like you make a timelapse of an analog clock. And I want the background around the clock gone. So I made the path around the "clock" because it will never change.
