After reading your post a few times, I think you have to make Adobe Acrobat the default PDF viewer/reader.
Microsoft Windows 10 uses Microsoft Edge as the default PDF handler/viewer. As you may already know Edge also acts as a file explorer and as a web browser.
Dou you know how to make Acrobat the default PDF application in Windows 10?
Can you also check if by disabling the Adobe Acrobat Internet plug-in from your Internet Explorer browser do any difference?
If your answer is yes to both questions and you've already tdid this, then disregard these tips.
