To publish to Facebook, create a folder to store JPEG images in for the purpose of posting at Facebook. Then export your work as JPEG images at apporiate resolution and color depth (sRGB)

Re: Not enough memory when exporting, even though there is still memory left in system
I posted this elsewhere but I think it is of relevance here as well.
I did a quantitative test. Such a test seems to be lacking on discussion pages re LR memory needs and performance. My computer: iMac retina 5K, 27 inch, 2019, Mohave 10.14.6. LR is most up to date version of Lightroom Classic 8.3.1, Radeon Pro 580X 8Gb memory on the board. I'll get into computer memory in a moment. Working with RAW files from Nikon Z7 with typical size of 60 Mb.
1. iMac arrived with 8 Gb memory installed. Did and HDR merge in LR with three images Took about a minute. Way too long for simple operation so I did not do subsequent tests with this amount of memory.
2. Put in2 x 16 GB OWC memory chips via Amazon. Did a test require HDR AND Pano merge - 18 images total (about 60-65-Mb each) with 3 images HDR set at each of 6 positions for the Pano. Took 1m 38s for LR to create the Pano in preview mode. Took an addition 1m 44s to creat the final image - a Pano with each segment an HDR image for total of 3m 22s. Clearly much better than simple 8 Gb.
3. so I upped the ante going to 4 x 16 chips for total of 64GB. Repeated same test as in example 2. This time it took 1m 10s to generate preview in Pano mood. A modes improvement of almost 30s. But then I let it go ahead to create final image. This took an addition 36s for a total of 1 46s ABOUT TWICE AS FAST AS WITH 32Mb. Amazing.

funny characters
I keep getting funny characters when I allow the program to convert pages in a pdf into an editable format. In fact, a lot of my characters are converted into squares with x's inside. I then have to retype those characters again causing each pdf to take much longer to complete than it would have otherwise. How do I fix this? If I cannot then how can I turn off the mechanism which automatically converts pages into editable text?

Align two layers or objects in Photoshop
Hi,
I try to figure out how to align two layers, groups or objects in Photoshop.
Below is what I try to do:
1. Select the first layer, group or object.
2. Press Ctrl and select the second layer, group or object.
Click the "align right edges" or "align left edges" to align the layer, group or object.
My purpose is to align the second one to the first one. However, the problem is that sometimes the second one will be aligned with the first one. But sometimes the situation is reversed, the first one will be aligned with the second one. And that seems to run in a random way. Which makes a real headache to me.

Your screen capture shows Photoshop is open the home workspace is visible and Photoshop Adjustment Palette is visible over the Home workspace. My screen capture like that would capture what is on both of my displays Try closing Photoshop before you capture your displays.

Re: Acrobat 2017 freezes when trying to bring up a Windows Expolorer window
After reading your post a few times, I think you have to make Adobe Acrobat the default PDF viewer/reader.
Microsoft Windows 10 uses Microsoft Edge as the default PDF handler/viewer. As you may already know Edge also acts as a file explorer and as a web browser.
Dou you know how to make Acrobat the default PDF application in Windows 10?
Can you also check if by disabling the Adobe Acrobat Internet plug-in from your Internet Explorer browser do any difference?
If your answer is yes to both questions and you've already tdid this, then disregard these tips.

Re: Returning to a prior layer to do additional retouching
Check the tool options (sample current layer, all layers, current & below), perhaps reset the tool. Check the targeted layer, visibility and or image or mask channel. Check for active selections. These are probably the most common issues when things are not working as you expect. Working on a transparent layer for the corrections may be preferable than on a full duplicate of the original.

Re: Lightroom CC Export Lightens My Photo
Lightening the photo on export just started for me. It has never been a problem before.
Top, as edited, intentionally darker to try to correct the lightening issue. Bottom, the exported file Both are as they appear side by side in my Lightroom monitor. I have not changed any settings, so this sudden change is very upsetting and I don't know how to correct it.

Make a selection of where you want to align layers relative to. A single pixel, the Canvas an area over the canvas. Then target a layer or layers and use menus Layer>Align Layers to Selection>Relative Horizontal location and Layer>Align Layers to Selection>Relative vertical location.

You need to show exactly what you have set the Imager Process dialog. Capture the screen, Show the Message you get capture that screen. Show a screen capture of the files listed in the folder you set in the image processor dialog. Also What OS and Photoshop version you are using.

If you lookind for an automate selection you need to find some way to make Photosho displaye the image whih cause the background to have great contrast with the images subject. You need to create contast to be able to select the background.

Track listener ids in JSFL between external script executions from AS3
An eventListener has been created in a .jsfl script. Is it possible to call removeEventListener from AS3 to remove that listener? As far as I can determine, it's impossible to keep track of (and therefore remove) any listener IDs between MMExecute calls from AS3.

This is what I used to generate the first report. As I mentioned, I find it's a lot of work to add in all the custom fields in order to create the report that I need, and I don't see an option to save all those fields so that I can reuse them. That's what I want, the "add a bunch of custom fields and reuse them later" functionality. I don't see instructions on how to do that on this page.

These seem to describe the "old version" of reports, that use a completely different UI than the page at /mnt/overlay/dam/gui/content/reports/createreportwizard.html
I might be able to go down this path, but before I do, I'd like confirmation that these reports and the reports from the first link are separate. Are they? And is there no way to create (and save) a custom report in the style of the reports from the first link?
